The European Youth Forum is very concerned with ongoing human rights violations in Belarus, which are severely impacting on the lives and freedoms of young people. We give our full support and solidarity to our Member, RADA, who continue to speak out for the rights of young people in Belarus.

Human rights are universal and must always be recognised and protected. Despite the outcry by the international community, including the Council of Europe, the European Union and the UN, Belarus remains the only European country to continue to carry out the death penalty. We are shocked and saddened that sentencing of this kind is given, including in recent months, to two brothers of 19 and 21 years old.

European Youth Forum is firmly committed to human rights, equality and non-discrimination. There is no place for hate speech of any kind in Europe and it must not be tolerated. Young people already face significant barriers to accessing their rights, and we must continue to work together to build a Europe where we can all enjoy the same freedoms regardless of age, gender, sexuality or any other ground.
