Youth Progress Index: Measuring young people's social progress globally

The Youth Progress Index is one of the first ever instruments for measuring the quality of life of young people independently of economic indicators. As such, the framework makes a significant contribution to the policy debate – including for advocacy as well as scholarly research – on measuring performance of societies related to youth matters, and defining progress beyond economic achievements.

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the Youth Progress Index 2023, highlighting key findings from 153 countries at both global and regional levels over 12 years. The analysis of country performances during this time revealed that five countries have seen a stall in their Youth Progress performance, indicating a need for renewed efforts to achieve progress for young people.

Youth Progress Index 2023: Exploring Social Factors in Youth Mental Wellbeing
